Quiet Escape
Our clients came to us with a clear vision: they wanted their primary bathroom to feel like a boutique hotel suite, balanced with the tranquility of a private spa retreat. The design direction was rooted in minimalism - clean lines, a restrained material palette, and thoughtful details that create a sense of calm from the moment you enter.
To achieve this feeling, we carefully balanced texture and simplicity through a combination of microcement and large-format tile. Rather than relying on contrasting materials, we selected finishes within a similar tonal palette to create subtle movement and visual interest without competing for attention. The result is a space that feels layered and sophisticated while maintaining a serene, uncluttered aesthetic.
Within the shower, water-repellent microcement wraps the walls, creating a seamless, spa-like envelope. The back of the recessed niches and floating shelves are finished in large-format tile, introducing texture and depth while highlighting these functional features. This thoughtful mix of materials adds dimension to the space without disrupting its calm, minimalist character.
A bespoke oak vanity was designed specifically for the project, complete with integrated under-cabinet lighting that casts a soft ambient glow across the floor. Within the shower, illuminated niches create both function and atmosphere, bringing warmth and mood to early winter mornings and evening routines alike.
Comfort was equally important. Heated flooring beneath the microcement ensures the space feels warm underfoot year-round, while a heated towel warmer keeps towels dry, cozy, and ready for use after every shower or bath.
Every element was selected to support a slower, more restorative daily experience, bringing together the luxury of a boutique hotel, the serenity of a spa retreat and the simplicity of minimalist design.
